Dancing On Ice’s Rachel Stevens confirms ITV show return and gives injury update


Rachel Stevens has confirmed her Dancing On Ice return after recovering from her wrist injury.

Earlier this week, the former S Club 7 star, 43, revealed she had to pull out of skating on Sunday’s show (January 23) after she fractured her wrist following a fall on the ice with pro Brendyn Hadfield.

Speaking on Sunday’s episode of Dancing On Ice, Rachel revealed that she returned to the ice on Saturday (January 22) and will be back performing next week for the ITV competition’s Movie Week.

During the latest instalment, it showed a VT of Rachel and Brendyn where she said: “So unfortunately, I’ve had a little accident where I hurt my wrist.

‘So me and Brendyn are not allowed to go on the ice for now. Obviously, I was absolutely gutted. I was so upset, we’re just making the best of it.

“So we’re training here in a dance studio. We will be back, we’re working really hard to get back on and I cannot wait!”

Host Holly Willoughby then spoke to Rachel live in the audience where the latter gave an update about her injury and spoke more about her show return.

She said of her wrist: “It’s really good, it’s healed really well, thankfully. We’re back, we were back on the ice yesterday!”

Teasing her Movie Week performance, Rachel said: “We’re going to be doing Moulin Rouge!, I’m very excited!”

To which Holly said: “Well listen, you be careful because we need you here. Both of you!”

A spokesperson for Dancing on Ice previously explained of Rachel’s injury: “Due to an injury sustained in training and on the expert advice from the Dancing on Ice medical professionals, Rachel Stevens will not skate in this Sunday’s show.”

Elsewhere during Sunday’s episode, Ben Foden became the first star to be voted off the ITV skating show after the dreaded skate-off.

Ben, 36, performed with pro Robin Johnstone as he went against Ria Hebden and Lukasz Rozycki, who received the lowest votes on last week’s opening episode.
