Emmerdale star James Hooton, who plays Sam Dingle, celebrated 27 years on the ITV soap on Monday.
Taking to Twitter, James, 48, shared an epic Dingle throwback snap as he admitted that there is “no better place to work”.
James penned: “27 years ago today I filmed my first scene on @emmerdale Originally on an 8 episode contract, all I can say is…something went Terribly terribly right! There’s no better place to work! #dingles #emmerdale.”
Kelvin Fletcher, who played Andy Sugden on the ITV soap from 1996 until 2016, was quick to react to the snap.
He tweeted: “One of the most iconic characters the show has seen in arguably the most entertaining family on tv! Loyal, talented and above all genuine. They are lucky to have you!”

Elsewhere, it comes as Vinny Dingle, played by Bradley Johnson, continues to be held hostage by murderer Meena Jutla, played by Paige Sandhu, on the ITV soap.
During the latest instalment, Vinny, who is also being kept locked up in the barn with Manpreet Sharma, pretended that his Dingle family would be out looking for him.
After Meena asked how they could possibly locate him, Vinny pointed out that his mobile device has a tracker in it to which Meena immediately confiscated it and soon realised he was lying as he had no missed calls.
