James Corden has been spotted out in public for the first time following the news he will be leaving his hosting role on The Late Late Show to return to the UK.
The TV host and actor, 43, announced that he’ll be leaving his popular US chat show after seven years on Friday, revealing that he made the “really hard decision to leave” because he wanted to spend more time in Britain with his wife Julia and their three children.
The star was spotted on a petrol run following the announcement that he’d be leaving the show that became famous for its superstar guests and segments such as Carpool Karaoke.
James filled up his car in Santa Monica, LA following the news and appeared to be trying to keep a low profile, wearing a casual outfit of a dark hoodie and jeans, along with white trainers and sunglasses.

It comes after the Gavin and Stacey star confirmed that he would be quitting his popular evening show so he could spend more time in the UK.
Speaking with US showbiz website Deadline, James said: “It’s been a really hard decision to leave because I’m so immensely proud of the show. I’m thrilled to be extending [for a year].”
He continued: “I always thought I’d do it for five years and then leave and then I stayed on.
“I’ve really been thinking about it for a long time, thinking whether there might be one more adventure.”
James went on to say that his CBS bosses have been “incredibly supportive” and patient while he thought about his decision.
“There’s still some other things that I feel I want to do. I’d like to try and write,” the star added.
“There’s some [stories] I’d like to tell. I’d like to see if I’m capable of it. The fact that it’s terrifying is the reason to do it.”
The Sun reported that friends of James predict the superstar host will now split his time between US and UK projects.
Speaking fondly about his time on the show, James revealed: “I’ll miss the adrenaline of thinking: ‘Next week I’m going to jump out of a plane with Tom Cruise or in two weeks’ time, we’re going to drive around the White House in a car with Michelle Obama or sing Penny Lane with Paul McCartney driving down Penny Lane.
“All of my greatest ambitions for what it [the show] could be, it’s absolutely surpassed all of them.
“My intention is to try and go out in exactly the same way we came in, which is just going out with a with a bang.”
James has been married to TV producer wife Julia Corden (née Carey) since September 2012.
The couple share three children together: son Max, who’s 11, and two daughters, Carey, 7 and Charlotte, 4.
