Kanye West says he ‘won’t be gaslit’ as he explains why he bought home near ex Kim’s

Kanye West has defended his decision to buy a house in the same street as ex Kim Kardashian.

The 44 year old rapper has revealed in a new interview how he finds “solace” in spending time with his children and won’t let anything get in the way of him getting to see them.

Kim, 41, and Kanye share four children: North, eight, Saint, six, Chicago, three, and Psalm, two.

News emerged that the couple were divorcing after seven years of marriage last year, with Kanye having since been seen out with rumoured new girlfriend Julia Fox.

However, Kanye has now revealed his plans to be close to his children amid the ongoing divorce, by buying a house across the street from Kim in the Hidden Hills region of LA.

In a preview of a soon-to-be released full interview with Kanye published by People, the star explains: “My solace comes from seeing my kids and getting a solid schedule. That’s why I even got the house. [It was] flipped into there was something wrong with me getting a house next to my kids.”

In the interview, which is thought to be set for full release by Hollywood Unlocked on Monday, Kanye added how his own experience growing up played into the decision, saying: “You see when my mom took me from Atlanta to Chicago, my dad didn’t come to the coldest and most dangerous city in the world to be next to [me].

“He said, ‘I’m going to stay down in Atlanta.”

“Nothing with my career, with this rap, with this media, with none of that, that’s gonna keep me from my children. And that’s what I want everybody to know,” he added.

“Don’t play with me, don’t play with my children. Ain’t no security gonna get in between me and my children and you ain’t gonna gaslight me.”

It comes after the rapper was reportedly involved in an altercation with a fan in LA in the early hours of Thursday morning this week.

Adding to that, the star also seemed to take aim at ex Kim’s new beau Pete Davidson in a new song.

The star takes a hit at Pete on his new song with The Game called ‘My Life Was Never Eazy’, which has been heard in a leaked clip.

During the song, Kanye says: “God saved me from the crash, just so I can beat Pete Davidson’s a**.”

It’s not been confirmed whether the clip is an official recording due to the official track not being released yet on his Donda 2 album.
