The pair have been exploring potential feelings for each other over recent days, which has caused drama in the villa as Paige was feeling torn between her feelings for Jacques O’Neill and Jay, after the latter chose to couple up with her in the latest recoupling.
However, it seems Paige and Jay have called time on their relationship after they had a chat during the villa’s blue-themed party on Monday 27 June.
As all contestants dressed up in a blue outfit for the evening, Paige took Jay over to a sofa in the garden to make a confession, saying that she’d decided to focus on her relationship with Jacques instead.
“You said you’d rather me be direct?” Paige began, before saying that her and Jacques are “solid”.
She added: “Yeah, I think we are. We’ve had conversations it’s still Jacques and me, and I don’t want that to be a thing…”
To which Jay replied: “No, not at all, I got that impression straight away. I was actually going to say to you tonight, ‘Paige, I’m gonna back off, because I don’t want to get in the way’. You’ve got a great thing going with Jacques. So I’ll leave you guys to it.”
Relieved that the conversation had gone well, Paige said: “It’s just good to be direct and open, we’re on the same page”.
To which Jay replied: “I appreciate you being honest. I made my bed and had to lie in it, I knew it was going to be difficult from the start”.
In the Beach Hut later, Paige raved about how well her admission to Jay had gone, saying: “I say I’m not a direct person but that for me was pretty direct: ‘Let’s not beat around the bush, me and Jacques are good, sorry, bye!'”
Jay had previously caused an explosive argument in the villa when he told then partner Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu that he was interested in exploring his feelings for Paige, with some fans calling him “savage” for swiping her from Jacques in last week’s recoupling.
But Paige’s feelings towards Jacques seemed to grow stronger after he pulled her for a late night chat on the villa stairs on Sunday night while the other Islanders were sleeping.
Previously, Jay had pulled Paige aside for a chat to ask how she’s feeling after spending the night with him and not with Jacques, following their recoupling.
“How are you feeling after the first night, sleeping without Jacques?” he asked.
“Ah no it was all good, I enjoyed our pillow talk, it was nice to get to know each other, do you know what I mean? What about you?” Paige answered in response.

After their conversation, the paramedic took a moment to reflect on her situation before describing her position as incredibly “awkward”.
“Jay and Jacques, you couldn’t get more opposite guys in here, really,” she revealed in the Beach Hut as she began to wrestle with the tough choice between the men vying for her heart.
However, with Jay and Paige now seeming to call time on a potential relationship, it seems the brunette beauty will be free to explore her deepening connection with Jacques without feeling torn.
