The Masked Singer UK saw Heather Small unveiled as Chandelier as the new 2022 series of the ITV show returned on Saturday 1 January.
The British soul singer and former lead of band M People, 56, shocked judges Rita Ora, Davina McCall, Jonathan Ross and Mo Gilligan, after she was unmasked as Chandelier on the show that returned on New Year’s Day.
Heather, who is best known for her hits Proud and Moving On Up, revealed how she disguised her voice as she sang a cover of Crazy by Patsy Cline because she has been ‘told’ that her vocals are ‘very distinctive’.

The Search for the Hero hitmaker had a ship on her head and revealed that was a clue to her initials ‘HMS’ before she was asked by host Joel Dommett the reason for taking part in the show.
Heather said: “Because I saw Gabrielle and Joss Stone say it was so much fun. So I thought I would give it a go.”
The talented songstress also revealed that she did not tell her mum that she was participating in the show and revealed that she would be ‘so surprised!’
Asked by Rita is she could perform the song in her own voice, Heather replied: “I don’t know! I have practised so much in the other voice!”
The hit ITV competition sees celebrities conceal their identities under a dramatic costume and give cryptic clues about their lives before singing on stage.
Viewers and the star-studded judging panel have to guess who is underneath the mask with one character asked to unveil their identity each week.
It comes after Joss Stone, who wore a Sausage costume, was crowned the winner of the 2021 series beating JLS star Aston Merrygold and singer Ne-Yo in the final.
While Nicola Roberts was revealed to be Queen Bee after she was crowned the winner of The Masked Singer UK in 2020.
