The Sally Metclafe actress, 58, is one of 12 celebrities battling it out on the ice rink each week on the new series of the hit ITV skating show, which starts on Sunday 16 January.
In the past, a slew of Corrie stars have taken part in Dancing On Ice, including the likes of Antony Cotton, Jane Danson, Samia Longchambon and Brooke Vincent – to name a few.
Speaking in a new interview, Sally admitted that she has set up a Coronation Street Dancing On Ice WhatsApp group that she has been using for support.

She told The Sun’s Fabulous magazine: “I’ve set up a ‘Corrie Dancing On Ice’ WhatsApp group. They’ve been brilliant and really encouraging.
“I need their support and to give me tips on how they coped. It’s really interesting hearing all their stories and what they went through, because I’m going through exactly the same thing.”
Talking about why she has taken part in the ITV series, she added: “After lockdown and everything that happened, I’ve felt that I just have to get on and do things and live the dreams that I want to live without being fearful any more.”
Sam, 28, who plays Chesney Brown on the cobbles, said he recently bumped into the 58 year old at work and asked her how she was finding taking part in the skating programme.
Speaking exclusively to OK! , Sam told us: “I did actually see her the other day and I asked her how the training was going and she said she’s absolutely loving the challenge but it sounds like it’s tough.”
Sam continued to say that trying to balance training on ice with her day job has been a “real juggling act” for the mum-of-three, who was the first contestant announced for the 2022 series.
He added: “It sounds so hard, I think I’d really struggle with it. I think as she’s been in work she’s trying to balance work with training and that has been really hard and a real juggling act for her!”
But Sam is confident that Sally, who has played Sally in the ITV soap since 1986, will succeed on the show thanks to her personality.
