AJ hasn’t been the only one singing the praises of Oti’s decision to quit the show.
Judge Craig Revel Horwood said on This Morning: “That’s fantastic. I think this is brilliant news.”
The outspoken judge continued: “She’s becoming a huge star in her own right. I think that is the way to treat the business. There’s only so long you can actually spend in one show.”
He added: “You don’t want to do the same role for seven years. I think it’s the best move that she’ll ever make.”
Craig touched on Dancing on Ice judge Oti’s inevitably bright future, as he admitted he would miss starring alongside her on the show.
He explained: “She’s fantastic as a presenter and I just love her. She’s just brilliant.”
The 31 year old penned: “Never easy to say goodbye. I have been part of the most amazing TV show, Strictly Come Dancing for the past seven years and it has been an incredible time.
“Lifting the glitter ball twice and having the best journey with all my celebrities, but also meeting and working with the best team, crew, producers, celebs and incredible professional dancers! You are my family, and I adore you all forever.”
The star continued: “I’m honestly so grateful to The BBC and will always remember that Strictly and BBC brought me to the UK – which I now call home and I have learnt and grown so much – Thank You from the bottom of my heart.” Oti, who is now a judge on ITV series Dancing on Ice, added: “I can’t put in to words how difficult this decision has been, but I have decided not to return for the next series.”
